The (thankful) end of Black January

What with more rain that you can shake a hose at, C’s foot, my head, Jen, some tough work and a generally overcast demeanour, we had no problems defining last month as Black January. It has been miserable, although at least we’ve not been flooded like many of our fellow Somerset folk.

I make it less that 100 working days to go. Or D-154. Whichever way you look at it, it’s pretty monumental. Even C is commenting on ‘when we go away in the summer’. The van’s been into the doctors and got its aircon and leak fixed. I’ve done some other small mods, and we have just ordered a DAB radio for the bedroom. All-in-all, it’s all systems go.

Yes work is tough. Going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark has been a struggle, but even the dark is lifting there. And the nature of what I am up to in the JS is emotionally wearing. But it’s good to have a bit of a project to work on.

That’s all!
